It's difficult to give a guide to prices. If you can describe the problem or email me a picture it should be possible to tell whether a visit would be worthwhile. The more information I'm given, the better prepared I can be.
Once I've actually seen it, I'll be able to give a good estimate of how long the job will take. If it's likely to be under an hour, it makes sense to do the work at the same time as the appraisal visit. I don't charge to have
a look and there is no obligation. However, there is an additional cost to me (and to the environment) if I have to come back.
Incidentally, it is sometimes possible to work on several small repairs at once in order not to waste time when glue or lacquer is drying. This is the way to get more for your money.
The minimum fee of £40 is for the first hour's work. Subsequently, the charge is £20 per hour. If there is a lot to do, I can offer a very competitive £120 day rate. There is no VAT to pay.
